Special activities for children

 

There is plenty to do for children and young people nearby. Besides hiking and guided tours with rangers in the national park, there is a public open-air pool (5 km) with a 56 meter slide and a lake called 'Achernsee' (15 km).

The Mehliskopf leisure centre (10 km) offers a very broad range of activities for children and young people, as well as adults: downhill carts (see picture), a bobsleigh track, a climbing park, an adventure playground for kids, a bungee-trampoline, archery, mountainbike rental, and in the winter a large ski slope with snow cannons, the largest snow park in the northern Black Forest, a ski school and ski rental.

 

The biggest contrast to the quiet ‘Chalet Bergweide’ is probably the ‘Europapark Rust’. But maybe it will become THE highlight of your vacation, especially for your kids. With 5.5 million visitors annually, it is the largest seasonal theme park in the world. In 2016, the US magazine ‘Amusement Today’ named the ‘Europapark’ the best amusement park worldwide for the 3rd time in a row. On a site measuring 950,000 sq.m. there are 18 themed areas and more than 100 attractions and fabulous shows.

Further attractions especially for children: the Mountainbike Arena (walking distance from the house), a deer park, a riding stable. Not to forget the cottage's ping-pong table, many board games and children's' books.
